History was created at Sunline Speedway on Saturday night with Cory Hodgson claiming the inaugural South Australian Modlite Title, proudly sponsored by United Speedway Association. 6 heat races were conducted through the night with drivers trying to score enough points to be able to start the 20 lap main event from the front. Saturday night sees history being made with the inaugural South Australian Modlite Title, proudly sponsored by United Speedway Association at Sunline Speedway. The venue feels honoured to host this event after helping establish the class over the last couple of years. Whilst Sunline Speedway is still in the middle of their 2015/16 season, the planning for next season has already begun with dates and some classes already being placed to a provisional calendar.

Sunline Speedway held its second meeting of the 2015/16 season on Saturday night with 47 cars nominated. Whilst the car count was down, all classes put on great racing for the crowd that was in attendance.

Whilst the 2015/16 season took some time to get going, the next meeting is already upon us at the Sunline Speedway. Racing will take place on the Saturday night of the long weekend with the Renmark Speedway holding a meeting on the Sunday night.

Sunline Speedway was finally able to start its 2015/16 season Saturday night with 7 classes taking to the track. All classes were down a few competitors each from the nominations that were received but still put on a great show for all of the fans that attended.

After an aborted start to the 2015/16 season, Sunline Speedway finally gets to flip the switch and fire into life on Saturday 20th February. A big program is on offer for race fans with 7 racing classes and 2 demonstration classes currently scheduled to take to the track.
Junior Sedans will contest Round 1 of the Robert Gwynne Memorial Track Championship with the Thorne Brothers Heath and Nathan looking to continue their dominance at the venue.

After the disappointment of having to cancel our first meeting of the season, we now look forward to the next meeting, which is scheduled to be in the 20th February. Whilst it is still a few weeks away, we have heard that there are already over 10 Modlites who have nominated for this event. As nominations close on Sunday 14th February, hopefully other classes will be able to get similar numbers organised so that we can put on a great night of entertainment.

After recently receiving the green light from Safework SA to conduct practice days and full race meetings after the safety upgrades to the venue, we were looking forward to holding our first meeting of the season on Saturday 23rd January. However, this event has had to be cancelled due to a very poor car count (24 cars in the 7 classes listed on the program) but also a lack of people to assist with the running of the meeting. Welcome to 2016 everyone. Whilst most have had some time off over the festive period, there’s been plenty going on at Sunline Speedway.
With the recent changes to speedway track safety requirements, infield tyre barriers have been erected and painted. As well as this, the majority of the venue has had a lick of paint to freshen everything up. The infield lighting has been upgraded, and from early tests it looks much brighter through the turns, which then spills onto the straights....Read Full Post »

Jen and Wacka would like to express their immense thanks for those people that attended this weekends working bee.
Mainly tasks were completed including, but not limited to the installation of infield tyre wall, a new fence at turn 2 between canteen and generator, painting of the new 'wind break' fence at turn 1 as well as the rubbish bins and new steps to water tank.

After the recent United Speedway Association Inc. (U.S.A.) AGM, it seems that some people still have a misconception about what the U.S.A is and how it’s different to Sunline Speedway.
Sunline Speedway is the racing venue, and was given this name by Wacka and Jen when they took over the promotion of the venue in 1999 from the Waikerie Speedway Club. Sunline Speedway concluded the 2014/15 season on Sunday with the traditional day meeting drawing a big crowd who witnessed plenty of action.
Junior Sedans were contesting the last round of the Robert Gwynne Memorial Track Championship with 17 cars entered. Sunline Speedway hosts South Australia’s last speedway meeting for the 2014/15 season this Sunday, with 7 classes set to contest the traditional June long weekend day meeting.

Whilst Sunline Speedway still has 1 meeting left in the 2014/15 season (Sunday 7th June, day meeting), we're already looking forward to the 2015/16 season. Planning is underway and at this stage its looking like a big season with 7 race dates currently proposed.
