After kicking off way back in October at the Murray Bridge Speedway the 2015/16 JD Couriers Super Series will finish this weekend with the running of the Grand Finale (Round 16) at the Sunline Speedway at Waikerie. The event, to be conducted on Saturday May 14, will be fully supported by Peter Venn at Scotcher Race Fuels and Oils and due to the fact it is the final round of the State series it has attracted the largest field of Super Sedans that the Riverland venue has seen for several seasons.

Going into the final it has really come down to a two driver shootout with Victorian Champion Ryan Alexander and Michael Miller fighting it out for the overall series victory. With the point score being kept a secret Supers Sedans SA Club President Graham Stewart wouldn’t say anything more other than both drivers can still win overall.

Looking at the overall statistics you would think that Alexander would be in the box seat having won seven rounds but he has missed a round in addition to recording two DNF’s along the way. On the other hand Miller has been a model of consistency with 13 podium results in the 15 completed rounds, including a round win at Speedway City.

Joining Miller and Alexander will be another six drivers including Paul Blenkiron, Graham Stewart, Kym Hammerstein and rookies Kym Jury, Dylan Hannam and Jason Gantz.

Of the remaining entries Stewart, Blenkiron and Hammerstein have all recorded a podium result during the series so far with Stewart being the only one of the trio gracing the podium on two occasions.

After damaging his power plant at the South Australian Championship it will be great to see Kym Jury back on track after missing the last round while Jason Gantz, who started his career in Junior Sedans before moving into the Wingless Sprint category, will be making his official Super Sedan debut.

The final round of the 15 round series will be conducted at the Sunline Speedway at Waikerie on May 14, 2016 and will be fully supported by JD Couriers and Scotcher Race Fuels and Oils.
